The $15m settlement comes after the judge ordered the release of jail videos that show Elisa Serna struggling with consciousness, bouncing against walls, falling, and being manhandled by guards, moving her onto the bed but never taking her to the hospital for treatment. They left her to die in a crumpled heap on the jailhouse floor. The family's attorney Eugene Iredale says they are out to change the culture at the jail, which is filled with jaded deputies who refuse medical treatment out of skepticism.
